JoAnne Kiernan brings over two decades of professional financial experience and a deep commitment to public service. JoAnne has helped families, businesses, and public institutions make smart, sustainable decisions grounded in transparency and long-term planning.
JoAnne’s public service began with nearly ten years on the Saratoga Springs City School Board, where she advocated for sound budgeting and student-focused policy. Currently serving as Deputy Mayor, she has gained firsthand experience in how city finances impact quality of life, from public safety to infrastructure to services we rely on every day.
Now, JoAnne is running for Commissioner of Finance to bring her vision and values to the forefront of city leadership. Her approach to budgeting goes beyond balance sheets. She views the budget as a strategic tool, a policy document, an operations guide, and a communication platform that reflects our community’s priorities.
